- This is only Honda approved on-car brake lathe for front wheel disc finishing. Never uses off-car brake lathes on front discs or non-approved on-car brake lathes.
- New front brake discs should be refinished on the car to avoid brake vibration.
- Always torque the wheel nuts to S/M specs. Driving the vehicle or refinishing discs with the wrong wheel nut torque can cause run-out. Run-out causes thickness variation in disc, and thickness variation causes brake vibrations.
- Refinish with the transmission in first gear and the engine at idle, not fast idle. Refinishing with higher gears and speed will damage the cutting bits and provide a poor finish. Or use the Power Drive System shown on page 4-23.
- Available for technician to purchase or lease to own. Call 1-888-424-6857 for details.
- Refer to"Brake Disc Refinishing" Service Bulletin (Honda #A86-020, Acura #B86-014) and "Reducing Brake Vibration" Service News article (Honda Sept. '97 issue, Acura Oct. "97 issue) for additional information.
